Insurance-linked investments in the institutional portfolio

The online seminar held by Twelve Capital, Luther attorneys and finccam held on 15 September 2020 took a closer look at insurance-linked securities. The numerous participants were able to gain an overview of various aspects of investing in cat bonds and subordinated insurance bonds.

At the beginning of the event, finccam discussed the two investment topics from an overall portfolio context and identified the relevant risk premia as well as their role in the institutional portfolio. The second speaker, Martin Hüwel of Luther, presented the regulatory framework for investors in cat bonds and subordinated insurance bonds under the German Insurance Supervision Act (VAG) and Solvency II in detail. Finally, the asset manager Twelve Capital introduced two active strategies for implementing these asset classes.

Many thanks to all participants as well as to Luther and Twelve Capital for the very successful online event!
